I Value
I value, because someone values me.
He made me what I am and chose to consider me valuable.
He wanted a relationship with me, and tried to connect with me, but without forcing himself on me.
I ignored him.
Because he treasured me, he chose to love to me.
I closed the door on him, locked it and threw away the key.
My world became cold, lonely, meaningless and empty.
I cared for nobody and no one cared for me.
I selfishly exploited others and they exploited me.
I was bled dry, a thing; no longer a man.
Thrown on the rubbish heap of life.
I tried desperately to find my way back to the one who loved me, but couldn't unlock the door.
So he sent his most prized friend, his Son, to open the door for me, even though it cost dearly.
He said I was worth it.
His friend opened the door and led me back to the one who values me.
He taught me that, the worth of anything is what we value it to be.
He taught me how to value and what to consider precious.
He taught me to value him.
He taught me to love his character, his nature.
He taught me to value his love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
He makes me alive again; he lights me up on the inside so I can see.
I am not a thing that has no choice, a robot that must follow a set path, or a slave to be exploited by others.
I am a man, a person, who determines his own destiny by choosing what he believes.
I choose to believe him, I choose to value him above everything else.
So I value what he values.
I choose to have a nature like his nature.
I choose to value others.
I choose to be like his friend, the one who unlocks the door and brings others to him, just because they're valuable.
My life is full of meaning, hope, purpose, love, direction, order and happiness.
Because he values me, I value what I do; so I choose to value you.
